Sony Music Wwe-Global Warning-Melbourne
The joint was rockin' and Melbourne, Australia's massive Colonial Hall was packed to standing-room-only with nearly 57,000 fans when the WWE's greatest stars appeared in the Global Warning Tour--the WWE's first live event in the Land Down Under in nearly 20 years. It took less than 48 hours to sell the place out, and the fans got their money's worth from the get-go when Stephanie McMahon's welcome speech was rudely disrupted by Brock Lesner and Paul Heyman, with Lesner predicting he'd de-throne The Rock in the showcase CHampionshipbattle of the evening. First, however, there was plenty of action to get out of the way--and it began in a big way with a kiss my ass match in which Rikishi bested Rico into doing the evil deed. Next came tag team action with Mark Henry and Randy Orton taking the measure of Batista and Devon. Among other WWF Superstars on the card were Jamie Noble, Chavo Guerro, Hard Core Holly, Kurt Angle, Test, The Edge, Chris Jericho and more. The warm-up to the Championship event was hot indeed, when Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson held nothing back in a bra & panties match, with The Big Valboski doing the honors as guest ring announcer. All this was prelude to the real pandemonium of the WWE Undisputed Championship match--a three-way, no-disqualification slam-fest featuring defending champ The Rock going against Brock Lesner and HHH.
